Marsha McCloskey
The design for “Jack’s Airplane Quilt” is based on a pieced Airplane from the Carrie Hall collection of patchwork designs. Dating from the 1920s or 30s, I thought it was the perfect image for a quilt for my first grandson, Jack, when he was born. I have used paper-foundation piecing for the triangles in the Airplanes and strip piecing for the little four patches. Reproduction prints from the 30s and 40s in red, white and blue provide a lively and whimsical fabric theme.
Templates and quilting motifs included.
